FICFE arises from the interest in music originally composed for female voices, in the need to make their presence visible in the artistic and Latin American cultural field.

It is an independent cultural project. Its objective is to generate and consolidate a space for meeting and exchange between choral groups formed by women from Latin America and the world, sharing different repertoires, projects and cultural experiences. T 1hrough concerts, conferences and workshops, given by renowned figures from the international choral field.

FICFE is held every two years, with headquarters in different Latin American countries. Its first edition was in the city of Puerto Madryn, Chubut province, Argentina, in 2019. Its Second Edition will be held in San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Jalisco State, Mexico, in November 2023.

It's Third Edition will be held in the city of San José, Costa Rica, between July 6th and 11th, 2025.

​

It has two modalities: Festival and Composition Contest, wich happen in alternate years.
